Sarah Rozenthuler
Sarah Rozenthuler founded Bridgework Consulting in 2007 to help leaders strengthen organisations by engaging and energising people around great work. She is a chartered psychologist, leadership consultant and dialogue coach. After earning a first‑class degree in psychology and working at a global psychometrics consultancy, Sarah left the corporate world and spent four years as a street circus performer in Spain before returning to her true calling. She is the author of Powered by Purpose: How to Engage and Energise Your People Around Great Work and How to Have Meaningful Conversations, and her work has been featured in media outlets such as the Guardian, the Sunday Times, the Financial Times and the BBC.
In the interview, Sarah describes how her eclectic background informs her approach to purpose‑led leadership and why purpose is not a passing fad but a financial imperative. She offers a masterclass on her four capacities, three bridges (aliveness, alignment and ambition) and seven‑step framework for scaling purposefully and explains how small teams can embed purpose into day‑to‑day operations rather than letting it become a poster on the wall. Brendan and Sarah discuss how personal purpose intersects with organisational purpose, when to transition from founder‑driven decisions to team‑led processes, and how to maintain culture and customer‑centricity as complexity grows. Sarah shares practical steps for defining a purpose that inspires action, aligning people, strategy and culture around it, and building internal leadership capacity even when budgets are tight. They explore how to hire and onboard in ways that reinforce purpose, metrics to ensure growth stays aligned with values, and signs an SME is ready for a big leap such as investment or restructuring. Listeners will leave with two actionable steps to begin scaling with purpose in the next 90 days and a deeper appreciation for how purpose energises people to do their best work.
